The SBS team attends new build and afloat repairs of vessels in Cochin. It provides mobile squad for attending repair works at sea. SBS undertakes repairing of ships, barges, dredgers, tugs, fishing trawlers, boats, vessels and floating crafts. It also undertakes drydock repairs to small vessels up to 55m long.

The Slipway 55 Mtrs long 400 T haulage capacities will be ready in May 2009 to augment the company’s performance as envisaged and the shipyard will turn to an unchallenged project. With the readiness of drydock of size 100m x 20m x 6m in the near future will position the company in niche market segment will undisputedly monopolize the 100m segment too.

The Wharf, 115 metres long wet basin is designed to suit the requirements of afloat repairs of medium sized vessels. The waterfront is connected to the main ship channel in Cochin backwaters and has draught of more than six metres.

SBS research and development team is spearheaded by experienced naval architects and engineers motivated towards developing efficient and effective designs to cater its ship building specialization.

SBS R&D unit form strategic alliances with trend setting customers, designers and vendors to research on and develop new solutions to meet the requirements of different water depths and environmental conditions for various offshore structures. Apart from linking up with commercial design entities, they also support and co-operate with academic and research institutions to further the cause of the offshore industry.

Our Work shop is well equipped to meet all requirements of ship repair activities capable of doing all types of welding including CO2 and TIG welding, all types of cutting, bending and shearing works, hydraulic pressure testing, all types of fabrication and precision machining jobs, electrical jobs, electronic jobs etc., backed by a highly skilled and dedicated workforce, to keep us ahead of schedules always in respect of the ship repair/building jobs and other general engineering works undertaken by us for various agencies.
